A Canadian rescue vessel successfully saved a drifting tugboat from grounding off the coast of Washington state yesterday. The tug, which had lost power and was at risk of running aground in rough waters, was spotted near a rocky shoreline. The Canadian Coast Guard promptly dispatched a rescue ship, which towed the disabled vessel to safety, preventing a potential environmental disaster.
No injuries were reported, and the tugboat’s crew remained unharmed throughout the ordeal. Authorities are investigating the cause of the mechanical failure that left the tug adrift.
