Adani Ports Achieves 36.1 MMT Cargo Volume in August Despite Weather Disruptions

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) achieved a 5% year-on-year growth in cargo volume, handling 36.1 million metric tons in August 2024, despite weather challenges.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) reported a robust 36.1 million metric tons (MMT) of cargo volume in August 2024, marking a 5% year-on-year growth despite weather-related disruptions at Mundra port and Tuna terminal. The increase was driven by an 11% rise in container volumes. Notably, Kattupalli Port achieved its highest-ever monthly cargo volume of 1.4 MMT. Over the first five months of FY25, APSEZ handled 182.4 MMT of cargo, up 7% year-on-year, with significant contributions from container and liquid & gas segments. Additionally, rail volumes and the General Purpose Wagon Investment Scheme (GPWIS) saw double-digit growth, reflecting the company’s continued focus on asset optimization.
