Cochin Shipyard to Deliver India’s First Atma Nirbhar Bharat Dredger by September 2025

A new 12,000 cubic meter Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) is being constructed at Cochin Shipyard for the Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) and is expected to be delivered by September 2025. This ₹800 crore project is the first Beagle Series 12 TSHD to be built under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat scheme, bringing global technology to India. The dredger, based on the IHC Holland Beagle Platform, will be customized for Indian needs. Despite concerns, DCI has a strong fleet and maintains a major market share in India’s dredging sector.
