Sashi Tharoor, the leader of the Congress, stated on Monday that a consensus needed to be developed on the Vizhinjam seaport.
After breakfast with Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, Tharoor told reporters that many of the demands made by the fishermen protesting the Vizhinjam international port project are valid and that a solution must be found.
The victims of the flood were saved by the fisherman. Tharoor suggested that we consider what we have done for them in return.
He said that he did not speak with Cardinal Mar George Alencherry about the Vizhinjam matter. He stated that he spoke with the cardinal about governmental issues.
Tharoor, who has consistently backed the Vizhinjam seaport project, charged the state administration with failing to address the worries of the fishing community. He remained steadfast in his belief that the Vizhinjam port project will be good for the state’s and the nation’s economies.
When questioned about PC Chacko’s invitation to the party, Tharoor said that the two had not spoken about it. “I need to be welcomed if I am going there. I am not going to the NCP. Such matters were not discussed with PC Chacko,” said Tharoor.
