Medical Camp at Paradip Port by Indian Navy Ship with Portable Containerised Medical Facility

As part of Navy Day Celebrations 2022 and social outreach programme, a Medical Camp was organised at Paradip port by ENC. The camp was inaugurated by Surg Rear Admiral R Ravi, CMO, ENC. INS Gharial, an amphibious ship, was converted into a hospital ship role for this event.

The Portable Containerised Medical Facility PCMF onboard ship has an X Ray Centre, Dental Centre, Minor OT, Isolation ward, ICU and pharmacy, which will be a key enabler during HADR operations.

The camp, coordinated locally by Commodore NP Pradeep, NOIC (Odisha) aimed to provide a comprehensive health check-up for residents of villages Sandakudu, Jagannatha Colony and others in vicinity of Paradip. Pediatrics, Dermatology, Dental, Medical, Ophthalmology, general OPD, and Gynaecology facilities were provided during camp by doctors and paramedic staff from INHS Kalyani and INHS Nivarini.
