Chennai: 7th Convocation of Indian Maritime University and the Inauguration of Centre for Policy Research in Maritime Studies of Indian Maritime University are scheduled to take place on 4th November 2022 at Indian Maritime University headquartered in Semma cherry, Chennai.
The event will be graced by the presence of Chief guest Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Tourism Mr. Shripad Y. Naik.
The 20-acre Indian Maritime University-Chennai Campus, formerly the National Maritime Academy campus, is situated on the outskirts of Chennai. The finely crafted building is nothing less than an architectural wonder nestled amidst lush green sylvan settings, after a 25 km drive along the East Coast Road beside the shoreline. The academic building, hostel, residential areas, and recreational amenities are all located on the large campus.
With technical support from UNDP and UNCTAD, the Academy was founded in 1985 to provide courses of acceptable standards. The IMU Chennai Campus is certified to ISO.
It provides cutting-edge facilities for holding training sessions for both port and marine staff.
IMU also have campus in Kochin, Kolkata, Mumbai and Vishakhapatnam.
