BSF Apprehends 7 Pakistani Boats, 2 Pak Fishermen Near Border Area Of Gujarat’s Kutch

Seven Pakistani boats were detained by the Border Security Force (BSF), and two fishermen were taken into custody from a creek area close to the India-Pakistan border off the Kutch district coast in Gujarat.

According to the officials, at 11.40 am on Monday, the Air Force Station at Nalia in the Kutch district, which constantly monitors the area, saw a suspicious movement of some fishing boats and fishermen in the area of Harami Nala using an unmanned aerial vehicle. The Bhuj BSF promptly conducted a special operation after receiving the alarm, and they captured 7 Pakistani fishing vessels. Additionally, two fisherman who were identified as Pakistani citizens were brought into prison.

In its statement, released on Tuesday, the Border Security Force said, “The Bhuj BSF immediately launched a special operation in the Harami Nala area spread over 900 sq km. So far, the BSF troops have apprehended two Pakistani fishermen and the operation is in progress.”

The BSF has named the arrested fisherman as Yasin Sheikh (35) and Mohammad Sheikh (25), who both live in a village close to Zero Point in Pakistan’s Sujawal province.

The detained fishermen are being questioned about their activities as part of an inquiry that has been begun, and the impounded boats are being inspected for drugs. It is important to note that the BSF personnel had earlier on August 5 arrested a Pakistani fisherman and taken five boats from the same region.
