Mask Made Optional for Vaccinated Guest on Royal Caribbean with CDC Guidelines

BY Shivani

On February 25, the mask requirement will be lifted for sailings from the United States and Puerto Rico for fully vaccinated guests on Royal Caribbean International cruise ships.

Following the announcement that it will participate in the CDC’s new voluntary cruise ship programme, the cruise line made changes to the Healthy Sail Centre section of its website.

According to the company, unvaccinated children will continue to wear masks indoors and in crowded places. All children attending the Adventure Ocean youth programme must wear masks and guests under the age of two are not required to wear a mask at any time.

Masks are also optional at Perfect Day at CocoCay and Labadee, the company’s private destinations. According to Royal Caribbean, guests are advised to follow local regulations when visiting other ports. Masks should also be worn at the cruise terminal during boarding and screening, as well as disembarkation. Guests under the age of two are not required to wear a mask at any time.

Royal Caribbean stated that it has yet to determine its health and safety protocols for cruises regarding European sailings, which are set to begin this spring.
