The Border Security force (BSF) on Friday apprehended six Pakistani Fishermen and seized 11 fishing boats along the Indo-Pak maritime border in Kutch, Gujarat in the Harami Nala Creek area of the district.
The BSF reported that 11 Pakistani fishermen in a marshy area of Harami Nalla but was unable to locate them on Thursday. “These fishermen had hid themselves among the dense mangrove vegetation in the area.”
“They would have sneaked back into Pakistan if we hadn’t searched for them,” a BSF official said.
Following the launch of the search operation in a 300-square-kilometer area, the Indian Air Force airdropped seven commando teams to assist in the operation. The Creek Crocodiles, a BSF commando unit, were in charge of the majority of the operation.
On Thursday, three commando teams were airdropped and later four more teams were sent to the area the next day.
GS Malik, the Inspector General of Gujarat’s Border Security Force, arrived in Kutch from Gandhinagar to oversee the search operation in the creek area following the recovery of the boats.
