Transport Minister Grant Shapps is all set to scrap the test for fully vaccinated travelers for the February break. Doubled-jabbed travelers will no longer have to do a COVID test on their return to the country under the new plans drawn by the UK government. The announcement on the change in guidance will be made on January 26.
The change will allow families to go on half-term holidays from next month without the COVID test which is currently required on their return to the Kingdom. It will also be a great ease for the seafarers and shipping industry. The news comes as further relief to the travel industry after the UK eased restrictions on international travel earlier this month.
It will allow the travelers to take the cheaper and quicker lateral flow test instead of the expensive PCR test on day two. This will save a family of four for around 300 Euro. On Friday, cases fell below 100,000 a day for the first time since December 21 and 81, 713 cases were recorded this Saturday as infection continued to fall.
